Josh Moore

About Josh Moore

A man from the mountains

Josh Moore was raised in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, where his family goes back beyond the Revolution, and now resides in the magnificent Rocky Mountains of Southwest Montana. His folk driven style combines elements of his many influences, John Prine, Guy Clark, Martin Sexton among others. Currently Josh plays lead guitar, sings, writes and tours full time with Montana’s sweethearts Laney Lou and The Bird Dogs, while enjoying an equal amount of solo performances around SW Montana.

Josh grew up in bluegrass country, but always had a leaning for blues, rock, and the clever folk lyrics of the songwriters. His grandmother instilled a love of telling stories, the tradition of the Appalachian people, which she still carries into her nineties. As a young man he followed his adventurous spirit to the West, where he  now lives, breathes, and loves life on the road playing for festival crowds, and dive bars alike.

Josh enjoys the craft of writing songs that harken back to his Appalachian home, and has a way of making the listener think about where they came from as well. His first solo album will be coming in Fall 2021, and you will want to keep a keen eye and ear to hear how he spins a tale on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and all major streaming platforms.
